Geri Halliwell, half Spanish and half Swedish, affectionately referred to herself as a "mongrel". Growing up in London, she was heavily influenced by the music of Madonna, Michael Jackson, and ABBA. Her father, already 50 years old when she was born, introduced her to the films and music of Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe, and Shirley Bassey.
A key figure in the pop phenomenon Spice Girls, formed in 1994, Geri Halliwell shot to fame alongside her bandmates.
