Talented 15-year-old Jarvis Coker formed the band Arabacus Pulp with his classmates Mark Swift, Peter Dalton, and David Lockwood while still in school. A year later, the band's name was shortened to Pulp. In 1980-1981, the guys recorded their first demo, which they presented to renowned music critic John Peel. He liked the tape and invited the guys to participate in his show.
